Gardunos:
The Mexican restaurant was originally a chain from the Maloof's home state of New Mexico and was wildly popular at the Fiesta with waiting periods of up to four hours. With a remodel in 1999, it was renamed Garduno's Restaurant, Cantina and Margarita Factory, they added the world's largest tequila bar.
What is a Silver Strike?
A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine and is in a protective plastic holder. People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens. The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0. The most common denomination is . Older Silver Strikes have a higher silver content. As the price of silver increased, the amount of silver decreased. Today, most strikes are Clad, brass with heavy silver plating.
About the Fiesta:
The Fiesta (now Fiesta Rancho) opened in December 1994 and was built, owned and operated by the Maloof Family. The property was the first hotel-casino to open in North Las Vegas. The Fiesta has been very popular among the local market. In 2000, after 6 years of successful operation, the Maloof family sold the property to Station Casinos, another local casino operator. The Maloof's reinvested their money into the creation of the Palms Casino Resort. In 2003 an ice arena was added. The Fiesta Rancho remains open today at 2400 North Rancho Drive.
