About the Gold Strike:
The Gold Strike Hotel and Gambling Hall opened in December 1987 in Jean, Nevada. Jean is located about 30 miles southwest of Las Vegas along Interstate 15, about 15 miles from the California border. In 1995, Circus Circus Enterprises (later MGM Mirage) acquired the property along with its sister property across the freeway called Nevada Landing. In 2015, the property was sold to Jett Gaming and renamed Terrible's Hotel & Casino. Nevada Landing was closed and demolished in 2007. The property includes the Off-Road Motorsport Hall of Fame and a display of cars from popular movies.
