    Barron Hilton:
Barron Hilton (October 23, 1927-September 19, 2019) was an American businessman, philanthropist and sportsman.  He was the president, chairman, and CEO of Hilton Hotels Corporation and the second son of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels.  During World War II, he served in the Navy as a photographer. As a young man, he obtained his pilots license and had a strong interest in aviation his entire life.  In 1954, Barron became Vice President of Hilton Hotels and created the Carte Blanche credit card service. In 1959, Hilton established the Chargers in the American Football League.  They were originally in Los Angeles, but found it difficult to compete with the Rams of the NFL, so Hilton moved the team to San Diego in 1961. Hilton served as AFL president in 1965 and assisted in the merger between the AFL and NFL.
In 1971 Hilton Hotels Corporation purchased the International Hotel and the Flamingo from Kirk Kerkorian. This made Hilton the first company listed on the NYSE to venture into gaming.  By 1972, the two resorts contributed 45% of the company's income. Over the years, Hilton expanded into different markets through mergers and acquisitions.  In 2007, Hilton Hotels Corporation was purchased by the private equity firm The Blackstone Group.  Barron Hilton was married for 57 years and had eight children.
    Las Vegas Hilton:
Located at 3000 Paradise Road in Las Vegas, Nevada, the property now known at the Westgate Las Vegas opened on July 2nd, 1969 as the International Hotel.  Kirk Kerkorian, chairman of Trans International Airlines and landlord of Caesars Palace, built the property next to the existing golf course and convention center. Kerkorian sold to Hilton Hotels in 1971 and the property was renamed the Las Vegas Hilton.  Over the years, the property expanded and added rooms. In 1984, they constructed the Hilton Center, a 70,000 sq ft convention center. In 1998, Hilton Grand Vacations, began building timeshares on the property.  During the Great Recession, Las Vegas was hit particularly hard.  Hilton terminated its agreement with the owner.  From 2012-2014, the property was known as the LVH.  In 2014, timeshare developer Westgate Resorts bought the LVH.  A portion of the units are being converted to time share suites.
