    The case has scratches typical of circulating through a Silver Strike machine, storage, and handling. The last two photos show the token with the case on. Due to age, there may be some toning.

    What is a Silver Strike?
    A Silver Strike, is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine and is in a protective plastic holder. People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens.  The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0.  The most common denomination is .
    Sam's Town:
    Sam's Town opened on April 1, 1979 at 5111 Boulder Highway and remains open today.  It was one of the first local casinos in the Las Vegas Valley and was named after founder Sam Boyd.  The hotel and casino are still owned and operated under the Boyd Gaming umbrella.  It features 646 rooms and 120,681 sq. ft. of gaming space.  One unique feature in Sam's Town is the "Mystic Falls Park" which has a large glass-roofed atrium with tall living trees, cobblestone paths, and a waterfall in the center.  The Sunset Stampede Laser Light and Water Show is performed several times during the day and evening.
    Fun Fact:
    The 2006 album "Sam's Town" by the Killers was named after the casino.  The Killers are from Las Vegas and band member Mark Stoermer could see the huge sign from his window when he was young.

    From 1980-1999 the studios of Nevada Public Radio were located in a separate building on the Sam's Town property.
